To battle online piracy the industry has raised prices of merchandise, albums and concert tickets. The industry sees piracy as the most important problem, with the economy being in constant turmoil people have less money in their pockets to spend on luxuries. With prices going up and up people see piracy as their only way to obtain a new album which creates a catch 22. The industry’s main income now is concerts.
